Importing misting equipment into India: what to arrange first

Most of the friction when importing into India is paperwork and after-sales, not the machine. Arrange these seven things and the shipment is routine.

Before you order

These five checks prevent nearly every problem we see on Indian imports.

  • Voltage and frequency in writing: 220 V/50 Hz or 380 V/50 Hz, and whether the panel has to suit a specific site arrangement.
  • Spare-parts plan: nozzles, filter elements, tubing and pump wear parts quoted together with the system, so the parts that wear are on site from day one.
  • Water quality information sent to the supplier: hardness and silt decide the filtration specification, and it is much cheaper to design for it than to fix it.
  • Documentation set: commercial invoice, packing list, specification sheet, and safety data sheet for any chemistry shipped.
  • Warranty logistics understood: what is covered, for how long (12 months on the pump unit in our case), and how a claim is handled from India.

Customs and port handling

We quote EXW, FOB Shenzhen or Guangzhou, and CIF. Most Indian buyers work with an import broker on a CIF or FOB basis and handle clearance themselves; we provide the shipping documents the broker asks for, and we can recommend that all electrical specs are confirmed in writing before production so there is no post-clearance surprise. Duty rates, licensing and certification requirements depend on the classification and the state — confirm those with your broker, and tell us if a specific test report is needed so we can say honestly whether we can provide it.

After the container lands

Commissioning is where imports either work or disappoint. Every system ships with a nozzle layout drawing, installation drawings and a commissioning guide, and we support installation by video call. Keep the spare nozzle set sealed until the system is running, then store it — that is what prevents a two-week wait when a nozzle eventually fails.

Questions

Common questions — India & South Asia

What is the minimum order?

One set for a trial order. Many Indian buyers start with a single system plus a spare nozzle kit, run it on one site, then order again for the rest.

Can you supply 380 V three phase?

Yes — 220 V single phase and 380 V three phase, 50 Hz. Specify at order stage, because the panel and pump motor are built to the voltage you confirm.

How fast can a repeat order ship?

Standard units are normally ready within 7–15 working days; the exact date is stated on the quotation and confirmed on receipt of the deposit.
