Poultry shed cooling in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf

Gulf summer is where evaporative cooling performs best and where failures are most expensive. Dry air means the physics work in your favour — if the droplet size and water quality are right.

Why the Gulf is the good case for fogging

High ambient temperature with low relative humidity is the ideal condition for evaporative cooling: the air can take up a lot of moisture, so each litre of water absorbed removes a large amount of heat. That is why a shed that is unbearable at 45 °C outside can be brought into a workable band with misting, while the same system in a humid climate struggles.

The three failures we see on Gulf farms

All three are design or maintenance faults rather than equipment limits.

  • Coarse nozzles: wet litter follows, with the ammonia and foot problems that come with it. The fix is 1–15 μm droplets, which evaporate in the air.
  • Unfiltered water: mineral-rich water blocks fine orifices quickly. A 5 μm inlet filter and a scheduled cleaning interval are part of the specification, not an accessory.
  • Uniform control across sheds: sheds of different ages, stocking densities or ventilation arrangements need different duty. Multi-zone control with humidity-linked logic lets each house run to its own conditions.

What to send us for a shed quotation

Shed dimensions and count, bird type and stocking density, ventilation arrangement, water source and quality, and the available power (220 V or 380 V). We return nozzle layout per shed, zoning, pump selection and the expected consumption (published range 3–8 L/min), plus the spare-parts list so the first nozzle change does not become a two-week wait.

Questions

Common questions — Middle East

How much cooling should we expect in a Gulf summer?

In dry inland conditions the published effect of 5–10 °C reduction in perceived temperature applies in the treated zone, and the reduction matters most in the afternoon peak when losses occur. We confirm the expectation for your site before you order.

Will it work alongside tunnel ventilation?

Yes, and that is the recommended arrangement: fog introduced into the moving air path evaporates faster and spreads further than fog released over the birds.

Can one system serve several sheds?

Yes, with solenoid zoning — each shed is controlled independently and only sheds that need misting draw water, which keeps consumption predictable.
